This course introduces you to the world of sailing aboard our Wauquiez Hood 38✱. Successful candidates will feel confident in their ability to understand the workings of a sailboat and enjoy contributing as a knowledgeable crew member.
This is a 12-hour course (split over 2 or 3 days, no overnighters) focused on teaching you how to sail and become a valuable crew member on small and large sailboats. With your Instructor, you will review what you’ve learned about basic sailing topics and skills covered in NauticEd’s “Qualified Crew Member” course. Following review, you’ll get out onto the water and practice what you’ve learned, preparing you to contribute effectively when sailing with friends or becoming part of a sailing team.
As you’ve completed the online curriculum prior to joining your Instructor on the water, the end of the class will include an assessment of your newfound skills. If you qualify, you’ll receive the “Verified Competency” endorsement to go with your NauticEd Qualified Crew Rank Certificate!
This course is run out of San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico. Experience spectacular desert mountain views and bright, clear waters in the aptly nicknamed “World’s Aquarium”.
