This course introduces you to the world of sailing aboard our Wauquiez Hood 38✱. Successful candidates will have mastery in large keelboat knowledge, skills and systems. Feel confident in leading your friends and family on coastal waters for multiple days on a sailing vacation. Get accepted by leading charter companies and port authories around the world as a qualified skipper.
This is a liveaboard course (either 7 days/6 nights or 10 days/9 nights, your choice) focused on molding you into a skilled, confident and competent skipper of large sailboats with the goal of doing bareboat charter sailing vacations. This intensive course reviews and allows you to practice all aspects of multi-day sailing covering in-depth topics like international navigation rules and buoys, sailing techniques, boat management and systems, boat handling, coastal navigation, electronic navigation and more.
With your Instructor, you will review the curriculum and skills covered in NauticEd’s Bareboat Charter Master Course bundle. Following review, you’ll get out onto the water and practice what you’ve learned, preparing you to confidently and safely engage in near-coastal sailing and bareboat charters.
As you will have completed the online curriculum prior to joining your Instructor on the water, you will also be formally assessed on your newfound skills. If you qualify, you’ll receive the “Verified Competency” endorsement to go with your NauticEd Bareboat Charter Master Rank Certificate!
Successful completion of this course also qualifies you to complete the SLC online exam (free!) and on-the-water assessment (which you can schedule separately with us here), in order that you may earn your international SLC license and certification!
This course is run out of San Carlos, Sonora, Mexico. Experience spectacular desert mountain views and bright, clear waters in the aptly nicknamed “World’s Aquarium”.
